ElasticStage, a London-based startup, has revolutionized physical music distribution by offering on-demand CD and vinyl production without upfront costs or minimum orders.
Utilizing a sustainable, chemical-free process, they produce high-quality records swiftly, enabling artists like Fantomacs to cater to fans who value tangible music formats.
This innovation aligns with the resurgence of physical media; in 2024, UK vinyl sales increased by 10.5% to £196 million, and CDs saw a 1% uptick, driven by Gen Z's appreciation for audio quality and collectability.
ElasticStage's model empowers artists to meet this renewed demand efficiently, offering a modern solution to the enduring appeal of physical music.
Uploading and publishing Fantomacs albums via ElasticStage is a smooth, artist-friendly process. After logging into the artist dashboard, the final audio masters are uploaded along with high-resolution artwork and detailed metadata, including track titles, durations, credits, and ISRC codes. The entire procedure looks and feels very much like the one regularly used for digital distribution on streaming platforms. This is totally different to most other CD/Vinyl press services that are currently available on the market, where "old-school" processes are still established frequently. Once submitted, the platform prepares the materials for both CD and 12" vinyl publishing formats using their unique and sustainable on-demand production technology. The quality of the artwork, covers and labels is impressively good and durable.
The installation process includes automated previews and quality checks, ensuring that the physical products meet professional standards. Once published, fans can instantly order albums directly through the ElasticStage storefront. Each CD and Vinyl copy is produced individually upon order, eliminating waste and upfront costs.
More Fantomacs albums will follow soon and will be made available in both, CD and Vinyl formats. The 12" vinyl editions will include an exclusive printed booklet featuring background stories, reviews, and an artist biography — offering collectors, audio enthusiasts and fans a tangible, immersive listening experience that blends music with narrative and visual art.

Upon playing my brand-new Vinyl albums on the "House of Marley" turntable, it was noticed that during bluetooth connection to a Bose S1Pro active monitor box, unreproducible distortions and/or flotations occurred. This was not observed during connection via cinch-cable to the same monitor box. However, the bluetooth connectivity can also be useful in situations where the smart phone should be connected wirelessly via the turntable to the same monitor box.
