What 'Berlin Nights' is all about

More specifically, it is for the listener who does not go out every weekend anymore, but still remembers what it felt like to walk through the city after midnight: neon lights, wet streets, bass from somewhere behind a door, strangers passing by, thoughts becoming louder than the traffic. It is for people who carry Berlin, or any intense city chapter, inside them as a memory, not as nostalgia only, but as emotional proof that they once felt fully awake.
The album fits a very specific moment: late evening, headphones on, moving through the city or sitting alone after a long day, when the outside world slows down and the inner movie starts playing. It is not party music in the simple sense. It is music for the walk after the party, the ride home, the window seat, the reflective drive, the night train, the moment when rhythm and memory meet.

June 26, 2026 marks the release of “Berlin Nights” (Full Version), the fourth single in Fantomacs’ evolving 'Berlin Nights' era. Released via RecordJet as part of the ongoing waterfall rollout toward the forthcoming *Berlin Nights* album, the track brings together the musical and emotional threads introduced across the project so far.
If “Berlin Nights” (Radio Version) opened the door, “Midnight Groove” raised the pulse, and “City Walk” brought the listener down to street level, the Full Version now reveals the complete scene. It is the central artistic statement of the project: an immersive journey through Berlin after dark, shaped by movement, memory, atmosphere, and the city’s unmistakable emotional tension.
Led by keyboardist, composer, and producer Joerg Peters, Fantomacs continues to develop a distinctive sound world in which electronic production, jazz-influenced harmony, cinematic textures, and soulful instrumental expression converge. Rooted in Peters’ personal connection to Berlin-Neukölln, the composition reflects a city experienced not only as a physical place, but also as an inner landscape formed by memory, rhythm, contrast, and change.
The Full Version expands the musical narrative beyond the more concise structure of the Radio Version. Warm electric piano, atmospheric synthesizer layers, spacious pads, woodwind colors, and expressive brass passages unfold gradually across the track. Its restrained opening develops into an increasingly rich arrangement, culminating in a broad brass-led finale that gives the composition a sense of emotional arrival.
Rather than following the conventional structure of a club-focused electronic single, “Berlin Nights” (Full Version) moves with the pace of a nocturnal film. Its groove remains laid-back and fluid while the instrumental voices emerge, recede, and interact like passing impressions: reflections on rain-darkened streets, distant lights, late-night conversations, quiet side roads, and fragments of a city that never fully disappears.
The track brings together the different perspectives introduced throughout the 'Berlin Nights' cycle. The invitation of the Radio Version, the rhythmic depth of 'Midnight Groove', and the cinematic movement of 'City Walk' now become parts of a larger composition.
