In a world where AI is increasingly stepping into creative roles - composing music, writing lyrics, playing instruments, even mixing and mastering tracks - it might seem like handmade music is fading into the background.
Add to that: AI now creates visuals, videos, and even runs marketing campaigns. So, it’s fair to ask - what space is left for real musicians?
Our answer: The most important space of all.
We’re not just making music. We’re investing in what machines can’t truly replicate—human connection, emotion, and lived experience. Together, we create innovative music and meaningful content that reflects our deepest feelings, longings, and stories.
Whether it’s in our songs, our artwork, or our videos, everything we do is rooted in real life:
Journeys to places no algorithm can reach. Expertise that goes beyond data. Experiences and insights that aren’t part of any AI training set—and never will be.
As AI continues to grow, we see the need to push back. Not out of fear - but to offer something different. Something human. As authentic artists and creators, we want to bring a fresh perspective - one that’s not defined by trends or data, but by emotion, connection, and creativity.
And we’re not alone in this.
More and more, younger generations are rediscovering the value of physical music.
Compact Discs and vinyl records are making a comeback - not just as collectibles, but as a way to slow down, to really listen, and to reconnect with the music they love.
It’s a quiet rebellion against the endless stream of algorithms and playlists. A growing desire to move away from the overwhelm and instead focus on a few artists who truly matter to the listeners/users. Moreover, Spotify now announced to invest massively (0.7 billion €) into the warefare industry - a step that is recognized not being compatible with the interests and ethics of many musicians who are now starting to re-think their engagement on Spotify.
This shift could be a turning point. One where we move away from machine-curated tracks and algorithmic data-mining-based music distribution to meaningful, human-made sounds and back to physical media. Where emotion, haptic experience, and authenticity take center stage again.
Hopefully, many people - especially of the younger generation - will follow this turn, rethinking how they want to consume music in the future.
And we’re here for human-produced E-Motional Electronic Music and consequently collaborate with ElasticStage and Bandcamp.
Some songs carry a groove so timeless that they invite reinterpretation across generations.
'Shakedown', first released in 2001 by Toronto’s Electro-Jazz innovators Four80East and recently revived on their live album Barn Sessions, is one of those tracks.
Now, Fantomacs takes on the challenge of reimagining this classic in a bold, one-man production - merging cutting-edge technology with expressive performance to create a version that honors the original while charting new creative ground.

With his upcoming release 'Shakedown', Fantomacs reimagines a modern Electro-Jazz classic from the Canadian band Four80East, who recently brought the track to life in their Barn Sessions, Part 1. Fantomacs’ version sets itself apart through an extraordinary approach: the entire arrangement – from performance and recording to mixing and mastering – is crafted by a single artist.
This one-man interpretation pays homage to the original while carving out its own unique identity. Central to the production is the innovative use of the TEControl breath controller, a cutting-edge tool that brings authentic dynamics and expressive phrasing to the performance. From soulful brass to lush string passages, the instrument modeling feels strikingly real, infused with nuance and depth that echo the energy of a live ensemble.
By blending physical modeling technology with artistic precision, Fantomacs transforms 'Shakedown' into a deeply personal statement – both a tribute and a fresh exploration of Electro-Jazz fusion. The result is a track that carries the groove and sophistication of Four80East while showcasing Fantomacs’ signature style: meticulous sound design, emotional intensity, and an unmistakable sense of flow.
'Shakedown' is more than a cover – it’s a testament to the power of innovation, musical craftsmanship, and the expressive possibilities of modern performance technology.
Released to all platforms. Step to the edge and shake it down!
Release Date: 22nd September, 2025

Fantomacs has always been a difficult artist to pin down. The Berlin-born, Switzerland-based producer Joerg Peters has built a reputation on defying boundaries, moving fluidly between electronic, jazz, ambient, funk, and even orchestral worlds with an ease that suggests he belongs to none and all of them at once. With “Shakedown”, he delivers one of his most striking statements yet, a sleek, cinematic reimagining that feels both mysterious and dangerously suave, as if it were written for a James Bond film that hasn’t been made yet.
With “Shakedown”, Fantomacs has delivered more than a cover, he’s crafted a piece of art that bridges worlds. It’s bold, atmospheric, and impossibly stylish, the sound of an artist taking full control of his vision and creating something that lingers long after the final note fades. |
